All Four WPIAL Teams Advance to Semifinals
All four WPIAL Champions advance to the semifinals of the PIAA playoffs, each in their special ways.
SINGLE A:
Clairton's Tyler Boyd is basically...unstoppable. On the season Tyler has ran for 1,861 yards on 148 carries and last nights romp of North Star was just another day at the office.
Boyd had seven carries for 176 yards including an 87 yard touchdown run on the Bears first touch. Clairton rolled over North Star, 44-0 and advance to the semifinals where they'll meet District 10 Sharpsville.
DOUBLE A:
We know exactly what Aliquippa is capable of, so a 32-7 win over Moniteau and a trip to the semifinal rounds, should come as no surprise.
The Quip's Dravon Henry, had 12 carries for 105 yards and three TD's and will take his Quips to the next level in the semifinals where they'll meet Tyrone.
TRIPLE A:
Montour's Dillion Buechel completed 20 of 32 attempts for 224 yards and three second half touchdowns to lead a massive comeback against Grove City, 25-21. Three second half takeaways didn't hurt either.
Montour moves into the semifinals where they'll meet District 3 Bishop McDevitt.
QUAD A:
North Allegheny's Mack Leftwich scored on five different occasions to lead the Tigers over State College by a final score of 40-14. North Allegheny will await the outcome of tonights Wilson/Central Dauphin match up to see who they'll face in the semifinal round.
Congrats and good luck to all the WPIAL teams, #represent!
